Kane Watch: And still he wonders

Eugene Kane today asks "Why are so many mainstream magazines lily-white?"

It's an entirely legitimate question, not least because it's a question and not an outright accusation (although, coming from Kane one has to wonder). And the article Kane cites is worth a read.

But I just couldn't resist offering my own answer:

Maybe the magazines are afraid of getting minority writers who have a tendency to make everything about race. Not that I'm naming names or anything...
