Just a Thought

If thousands of of illegal aliens didn't show up to their jobs yesterday, but instead attended a rally against the "evil empire" that is trying to throw them out of this country, shouldn't that, in theory, have left tens of thousands of job openings for the thousands of unemployed black males in this country?

Whose right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are the liberals protecting, anyway? Certainly not Americans'.

Hey el diablo,

When I wrote that post I had just finished reading the article titled, "Plight Deepens for Black Men, Studies Warn," which states, among other things:

"The share of young black men without jobs has climbed relentlessly, with only a slight pause during the economic peak of the late 1990's. In 2000, 65 percent of black male high school dropouts in their 20's were jobless — that is, unable to find work, not seeking it or incarcerated. By 2004, the share had grown to 72 percent, compared with 34 percent of white and 19 percent of Hispanic dropouts. Even when high school graduates were included, half of black men in their 20's were jobless in 2004, up from 46 percent in 2000."

After reading that, I read a couple of posts by Xoff and his clan that condemned people like myself for calling Illegal Aliens, Illegal Aliens.

It occurred to me that if the plight for black AMERICANS (in this particular case) is deepening at such a drastic pace, then maybe other AMERICANS should concern themselves with getting jobs FOR AMERICANS.

So, if you are thinking that I don't like Mexicans, that's not the case. It's just that I think our country has enough problems and unemployed people that could use jobs, that we should be concentrating on that.

Also, it irritates me that calling an Illegal Alien what he is, is means for attack for certain libs.

They are not seperate issues, in my opinon. They have been handled as seperate issues, which I think is part of the problem.

I'll tell you what the black-male unemployment rate has to do with illegal alien issue:

For every illegal alien that is employed, there is one American who has one less chance at a job and a self-created legal situation that enables wages below the standard minimums.

If it became more difficult for American businesses to hire illegal aliens, then eventually the economy would dictate that the wages would have to attract people to those jobs. And by "people" I mean American citizens.

When you consider that,"Even when high school graduates were included, half of black men in their 20's were jobless in 2004, up from 46 percent in 2000," I think the proper question should be, "How are these NOT related?"

It is my opinion that it is the job of government to protect the employment of its CITIZENS. Enabling illegal aliens to work in this country only detracts from the plight of the unemployed Americans.

If we statistically know that half of black men in their 20's are unemployed, then that constitutes a large percent of the overall population. So, fighting to protect the rights of illegal aliens is, in my opinion, the equivallent of saying NO to that part of the population (in this case, and it is the most extreme case).
